It is hard I know. Luck of practical experience and massive choice. So which router should you choose for your network project? Ther is some tips on how to choose a router. to make thinks simple - 1. Speed; 2. Power consumption; 3. Antennas (for wireles) 4. Avoid standards mixed up. Buy a router that matches the rating of your laptop or desktop PC. If you buy an 802.11n router and you own a laptop that has only an 802.11g radio inside, then it won't make your connection any faster than an 802.11g router. Keep it simple.
