I am hiring a technical editor in chief (or some such title) for the site’s blog. The idea would be to have 1 person responsible for generating content, finding and handling relationships with writers, writing themselves, etc. I would continue to maintain the technical aspects of the site.

Of course, this is a very high level description and there are a lot of details to work out, but I wanted to put it out there to see if anybody is interested. The position would be payed a percentage of blog sponsorship sales on a monthly basis and would be an employee of my dba. QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of 5 years networking experience with concentration on video conferencing infrastructure, management and design.

- Router, Switches, Firewall configuration experience is a MUST!

- Tandberg Video experience

- PolyCom experience

- Responsible for integration of new hardware into existing MTF networks, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VLANs, and other hardware and software configured networks in compliance with network security requirements of the client.

- Applicable certifications in video/audio conferencing and networks.

- Excellent knowledge of circuits, networks, and related equipment.

- Strong knowledge of Telecommunications theory and circuitry configuration of TelCom provided services.

- Broad technical knowledge of network concepts, topologies and technologies, including:

- TCP/IP, Internet communications, Intrusion Detection Systems, OSI protocols, Routing, VLANs, Wireless communications and security, Asynchronous communication, Premise Wiring, IPSec, Firewall Technologies (traditional and desktop), Ethernet, Frame Relay, VPN tunneling and Broadband.

- Strong problem solving skills and change management are essential.

- The ability to create accurate, detailed documentation and present the information to a non-technical audience is required.

- Strong written and oral communications skills; ability to lead discussions, present ideas to audiences of all sizes, and interact with all levels of the organization.

- Excellent interpersonal skills.

- Superior problem resolution abilities.

- Ability to perform job functions accurately and with attention to detail.

- Ability to work under minimal supervision.

- Excellent training skills and practical video conferencing experience.

- Must be able to evaluate the quality of video and audio by seeing and hearing. Must be able to re-locate and set-up video conferencing equipment on the various floors of our company.

- Tandberg certifications a plus

- Must be CCNA or CCNP Certified to be considered.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Evaluation of codec and Gateways/MCU technologies in terms of Quality, Bandwidth requirements, Management, Latency, Control Establish base level configurations for these technologies for deployment into our product suite

- Develop documentation and related support and training materials for the installation and support teams

- Provide 3rd level support escalation for operations.

Technical Requirements/Skills

- In depth knowledge of compression algorithms (H.264 SD and HD) and video standards including H.261, H.263, H.263 , H.263 , H.264 including call build and tear-down Hands on experience with the following codecs platforms (Tandberg, Polycom, Sony LifeSize, etc) to include using the programming interface.

- Hands on experience with Gateway/MCU products including Polycom, Radvision, Codian, etc.

- Understanding of network class of service requirements and transport including TCP versus UDP, Diffserve, TOS, etc.

- Audio Standards – G.711, G.722, G.723.1, G.729, MPEG-4 AAC-LC, MPEG-4, AAC-LD, Polycom? Siren14?\”?/G.722.1 Annex C Protocols – H.323 v4, SIP, H.235 (AES), H.239 (dual video) H.243 (chair control), FTP, RTP, RTSP, HTTP, DHCP, SNMP, NTP Audio visual knowledge in the areas of Camera technologies (CCD/CMOS, Single Chip/Three Chip, HDSDI/DVI, 720p 60/1080i), Audio and echo cancellation including microphone technologies, echo cancellation methods and implementation Switching, Control, Cabling, Internet connectivity and security Extensive working knowledge in conducting advanced troubleshooting and log analysis Experience with using H.323 testers

On-going design, implementation, and support of VoIP test labs. The candidate will support multiple projects within the Voice (TMD/VoIP) Research and Development organization.

The candidate’s primary responsibility will be design, implementation, and support of the IP infrastructure for the VoIP test labs. To be successful, the candidate will not only possess intermediate to expert Cisco networking knowledge, but also strong project management skills. He or she will be accountable for developing the plans and managing the deliverables associated with the IP infrastructure in support of on-going VoIP test efforts. The labs’ underlying infrastructure is made up of Cisco enterprise series routers and switches (Cisco 7600 and up series routers – OSR, GAR, GRS).

Expert knowledge of VoIP services and technologies (VoIP equipment, SIP protocols, IPTV, etc.) is also preferred. Network security experience/knowledge (VPN, PIX, ACL, etc.) is preferred.
